Plasma Fires

Plasma fires are wall mounted and are fuelled by electricity or gas. Plasma Fires are particularly suitable for homes without a chimney, flue or homes which do not have an outside wall.

Plasma wall mounted fires create an exciting plasma flames effect and plasma fires can be mounted on any wall. Even gas fuelled plasma wall mounted fires can be run without any flue or chimney. You can position your electric or gas plasma fire on the wall of your bedroom, the lounge, a study, the kitchen – gas and electric plasma fires also come with customised fronts and a wide selection of frames.

Gas plasma fires are 10% efficient and can reduce your gas bills considerably. With the gas fuelled plasma fire – and no flue or chimney – all of the available heat comes forward and circulates into the room – no heat is wasted going out the flue or up the chimney – gas plasma fires are elegant – and efficient – and economic. Any combustion gases go through a catalytic converter at the top of the gas fuelled plasma fire – all of the residues are burned off as heat – quite amazing and the very latest in technology.
With no heated air being lost through a chimney or a flue, a gas fuelled plasma fire conserves warm air and improves upon the heating in the home.  Also the vital part – the catalytic convertor – is not a part that will need maintenance or replacement – tests have been conducted which indicate that even with heavy use, your gas fuelled plasma fire’s catalytic convertor will be in good condition, as good as new – after 27 or more years of normal use and wear. All gas fuelled plasma fires are fitted with  ODS – an oxygen depletion sensor which operates the pilot light to move away from the sensing probe which efficiently cuts off the gas supply if there is a deficiency of oxygen in the air in the room. Gas fuelled plasma fires are safe –with an FSD – a flame suspension device. Gas plasma fires must be fitted by a registered CORGI engineer.

There are Rotary and Remote controlled plasma fires – which use no power other than battery power.
Powaflue gas fuelled plasma fires will require a supply of electricity to power the fans which assist in the circulation of heat. Regulations provide strict guidelines for the ventilation requirements of gas fuelled plasma fires –you will need to look at your local regulations.

All electric powered plasma fires have a thermostatic trip switch – which will operate if the electric powered plasma fire is covered over or moved.

All plasma fires are designed to complement existing central heating – although plasma fires do put out considerable heat of their own – the ambiance is better with supportive central heating and the additional heating helps reduce the incidence of condensation appearing on windows or walls.
