Discounted Heating
Electric Radiators are available in various different forms but most designs look just like a wet system radiator. The obvious difference is that they are not linked to a boiler and do not rely upon hot water. An electric radiator is heated by an electrical element inside that heats the liquid. This liquid can be water, oil or, in most cases, a specially developed mixture of water and chemicals. This liquid is heated up by the element and heat is released the same way a wet system radiator would release heat. There are many benefits to using electric radiators. As with most forms of electric heating there is no boiler and so no burning of fuel within the unit meaning that it’s a safer and cleaner form of heating a home or workplace. An electric radiator is therefore energy efficient as none is lost through combustion or in pipes. This also means that there are no annual services and less maintenance required overall. With the variety of electronic controls available electric radiators make it easy to control the heat in your home. An electric radiator with electronic control can react immediately to any change meaning that not only is using electric heating controllable but also economical.
Another advantage of opting for electric radiators is the option of choosing your electricity tariff and taking advantage of off peak rates. The ability to do this means that you can opt to use energy when it is at its cheapest and therefore save money. A perfect example of this is with the Dimplex electric radiator called the “Duoheat”. The Dimplex Duoheat electric radiator uses a mixture of off peak and standard rate electricity to heat a room in a similar way to a storage heater. It contains energy retention cells that are heated during off peak hours. This heat is stored and slowly released into the room. Any shortcoming in the heat leads to the radiator calling on standard rate electricity to increase the heat. With the complete controllability that electronic programmers provide the Duoheat system can be set to maximize economy arguably offsetting the increased cost of using electricity over gas to heat your home or workplace and making Dimplex electric radiators or electric radiators a viable choice.
